The past few weeks have been fun doing our 20 time project. We finally got to run our own practice and it was a success. Or practice did drills and things from the websites we have cited. Also in class we have been starting to get information for our final project. Harris and I have been coming up with different ideas to do for our final project as in what to say during the presentation. As a group we feel like this project has been very successful to the middle school hockey team. Last week was the hockey banquet and we got to see all of the kids for dinner that night. A few days after that the middle school team had their first playoff game and won. Harris and I are very excited for their next game we do not know who they play but we are sure it will be a good matchup. As project comes to an end I know I am very proud of the team for giving harris and I a wonderful year and I wish the best of them luck during the high school team next year. As they move up a level even without a 20 time project I will still be looking forward to coaching them next year.
Week 5 :)
The past few weeks have been a little off because of Christmas break. We haven’t been able todo much but what we have got finished has been good. After getting in contact with our mentor we went to a few practices with him and he showed us some of techniques and skills to teach with the kids. With kids who need help with shooting gave us 4 good shooting drills. With kids who needed help with skating he gave us two good skating drills we could do with them. Kids who couldn’t stick handle he gave us good stickhandling methods and ways to critique their stickhandling techniques. All and all we are working up to running our own practice. Next week I will not be able to make practice because of a conflict with the game that I have but I will still be able to keep in touch with the coaches and make sure everything will be running smoothly. Also Harris Brotman and I Will be choosing two or three kids to follow and track their progress. With these two were three kids we can see how her coachin...
